Welcome to Chris Cole

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Chris Cole as our next Old Hallifordian Chairman. As a proud Old Hallifordian and committed supporter of our activities, Chris brings enthusiasm, experience and a strong vision for the future of the association. We look forward to working together to strengthen alumni engagement, support current students and continue celebrating the achievements of our former students.

Chris commented, ‘I am delighted and honoured to take on the role of Chairman of the Old Hallifordians. Halliford School means a great deal to me, and I have countless fond memories from my seven years here between 2015 and 2022. The friendships, experiences and values I gained during my time at the school have played a significant role in shaping who I am today.

As a member of Wadham House and Sports Prefect in my final year, I was fortunate to immerse myself in school life. Sport has always been a particular passion of mine, and I was proud to captain the 1st XI cricket team for two years and represent the 1st XV rugby side. Some of my proudest memories are of stepping onto the field alongside my teammates, united by the Halliford badge and the shared commitment to give everything for one another.

Since leaving Halliford, I have completed an undergraduate degree in Business Management (Marketing) and am now looking to continue my studies with a Master’s degree in Supply Chain and Logistics Management. Despite moving on to the next stage of my education, my connection to the school remains as strong as ever.

One of my key priorities as Chair is strengthening the Old Hallifordian community and ensuring that former pupils remain connected with one another and with the school. Halliford has had a lasting impact on all of us, and I am passionate about creating opportunities for alumni of every generation to reconnect, network and celebrate their shared experiences.

While sport will always be close to my heart, I am equally keen to expand opportunities for Old Hallifordians across a wider range of interests, including drama, music and the arts. There is enormous potential to bring together alumni through a diverse programme of events that reflects the breadth of talent within our community.

Earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to help manage the MCC cricket fixture against the school. It was fantastic to see so many Old Hallifordians in attendance, and the event demonstrated the strength of the bond that still exists between alumni and Halliford. I look forward to building on the success of occasions such as this and introducing many more opportunities to connect over the coming year.

Most importantly, I would encourage all Old Hallifordians to get involved. Whether you left recently or many years ago, there is a place for you within our community. I am excited about what we can achieve together and look forward to catching up with many of you in the months ahead.’

After years of dedicated service, Mr Sam Lawrence has decided to step down from his role as the Old Hallifordian Chairman. We are immensely grateful for his exceptional leadership, commitment, and tireless efforts in creating a strong and connected alumni network.

Under Sam’s guidance, our alumni community has grown significantly, with numerous successful events, reunions, and networking opportunities. His contributions have been invaluable, and we appreciate the dedication and passion he has demonstrated throughout his tenure.
