Halliford School Named Finalist in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026

11th September 26

We are delighted to announce that Halliford School has been named a finalist in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026, in recognition of the outstanding impact of our careers and post-school support programme.

This prestigious achievement reflects Halliford’s commitment to ensuring every student is equipped with the confidence, skills and knowledge to thrive beyond school. Our highly personalised careers provision is built around knowing each student as an individual, offering tailored guidance, one-to-one support and meaningful opportunities to explore future pathways.

Careers education is fully integrated into school life, from PSHE lessons and UCAS preparation to the use of Unifrog, ensuring students make informed decisions throughout their educational journey. A wide range of real-world experiences, including careers fairs, guest speakers, work experience opportunities and university preparation workshops, help students gain valuable insight into an ever-changing world of work.

Over the past year, initiatives such as Careers and Croissants, Interview Skills Week, and our University and Careers Fair, which was opened to local state schools, have provided engaging and accessible opportunities for students to develop essential skills and explore a diverse range of professions. These have been complemented by our exceptional enrichment speaker programme, structured Careers Tutor Time activities and dedicated Sixth Form super-curricular provision.

The impact of this holistic approach is reflected in our students’ success, with 96% of students securing their first-choice university destination. More importantly, our programme supports students in finding the pathway that is right for them, enabling them to leave Halliford as resilient, ambitious and adaptable young people.

We are incredibly proud of this recognition and would like to thank our staff, students, alumni and wider school community whose ongoing support helps make these opportunities possible. We look forward to the awards ceremony in October.

Mrs Chloe Moore, Head of Futures, commented…

“We are thrilled to be recognised as a finalist in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026. This achievement reflects our commitment to providing every student with personalised guidance, inspiring opportunities and the confidence to pursue their ambitions. Preparing young people for successful and fulfilling futures is central to our mission, and we are immensely proud of the impact our careers programme continues to have.”
