We are delighted that you are considering Halliford School for your child’s future education. We are also aware of the importance of choosing the correct school for your child to flourish and grow into a confident young adult. We would, therefore, like to invite you to come and visit us to see what the School has to offer, meet our students and experience the unique atmosphere here at Halliford School.
Boys can apply to enter the School at 11+, 13+ or 16+. Girls can apply to enter the School at 16+. Entry into Year 7 and Year 9 is via an interview first, followed by our entrance examination, and we ask for references from the candidate’s current school. Entry into Sixth Form is based on an interview, a satisfactory report from the previous school, and a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above, including English and Mathematics. Students can, on rare occasions, enter the School at other age points if there are vacancies. The entry procedure is, in principle, the same as for the stages described above.
Halliford School prepares its students for GCSE, A Level and entry to Further Education. The principal criteria are, therefore, academic and based on the School’s assessment as to whether a prospective candidate is suitable for the academic programme. The School also offers students the opportunity to demonstrate how they can contribute to the School life through their abilities in art, drama, music and sport, and candidates can apply to be considered for a scholarship in these subjects. A limited number of academic scholarships are awarded each year based on performance in the entrance examination. For more information, please visit the scholarship section.
The School provides an extensive coach service to transport students safely and conveniently to and from School.
