Why Choose Halliford School

Halliford is an independent day school for boys aged 11 – 18 and we warmly welcome girls from the age of 16 to join our co-educational Sixth Form.

Halliford has always enjoyed an excellent reputation for being a school that places the individual at the very centre of all that we do. At Halliford School, we understand that an outstanding education is about so much more than just a set of examination results – although we are very strong here too. We help our students settle quickly and become part of the Halliford community where we strive for excellence in everything that we do in terms of the academic and personal development of every individual.

We strongly encourage you to come and experience the school for yourself either at an Open Morning, a Visitor Morning or by booking a personal tour during term time with our Registrar. There is only so much that a website can tell you. Nothing can compare with coming to see what the school feels like to you and your child and we look forward to welcoming you to experience our warm-hearted community. Book your visit here.

We pride ourselves on being a school where we are passionate about helping all of our 460 students to become the best versions of themselves that they can possibly be. As a small school, our size is an advantage. It helps us to be a warm-hearted community where your child is known and understood, their needs cared for and their talent and potential recognised and nurtured. Opportunities abound at Halliford and we see our students constantly pursuing new and exciting challenges as they progress from being boys to young men, but always Hallifordians! Through the fantastically close bonds that exist between our students and their teachers, we are proud to be able to achieve wonderful results both in and out of the classroom.

We offer amazing facilities and recent investment on the site has seen us develop a well-equipped Learning Resource Centre within our new Woodward Building which also houses six classrooms and offices. Our most recent development includes a brand new Matron’s Medical Room and Wellbeing Suite, and a new dining hall.

As a boys only school from 11 – 16 we are able to provide the perfect environment in which your son can thrive. We know that boys hold a unique set of characteristics which influence the way that they learn and develop into young men. Boys face different social challenges, maturing and developing at different rates and we provide a safe and supportive but encouraging environment where your son can feel comfortable and confident to face whatever challenges lie before him. We provide boys with the opportunity to study a wide and varied curriculum where they can make their subject choices at GCSE and A Level according to their passions and interests.

Whether our young people have aspirations to study medicine, become a sporting ambassador or set up their own business, we believe that we offer the best possible education to get them there. In a fast-changing world, we put great emphasis on the development of the whole person, believing that our core values will help to put our students in the best possible position when they move to the next step of their educational journey at 18.

Halliford Values

Our students and staff identified the following values as being at the heart of what it means to be a Hallifordian:

• Respectful
• Intellectually Curious
• Warm-hearted
• Creative
• Team Players
• Resilient

As our boys move into the Sixth Form, we welcome a growing number of girls to join us. We seek to foster aspirational and forward-thinking young men and women who strive to make a positive contribution to both the school and the wider community within a supportive environment. We aim to provide the best preparation for later life and help to prepare our students to embrace what the world has to offer and to meet any challenges that may lie ahead.

Outside of the classroom, Hallifordians are encouraged to develop on a personal level. Whether through engagement in our extensive co-curricular programme, becoming involved in the community through charity work or experiencing new cultures on our range of school trips and tours, our students are afforded experiences that will remain with them for a lifetime.

At Halliford we provide our students with an exciting, challenging and supportive holistic educational experience where every student is respected as an individual and proud to be a Hallifordian.
