Safeguarding

Halliford School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of each and every child in its care. We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all students. We believe that all students, regardless of age, special needs or disability, racial/cultural heritage, religious belief or sexual orientation, have the right to be protected from all types of harm and abuse. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice. Child protection forms part of the School’s safeguarding responsibilities.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we take this approach extremely seriously at Halliford School. We keep our staff regularly updated with training, and our policies are updated continually to reflect best practice.

Our safeguarding team comprises a Designated Safeguarding Lead, Mr Norman and three Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads; Mr Davies, Mr Slocock and Mr Shales. Mr Shales is also our Director of Student Welfare.

For more information, please refer to our Safeguarding And Child Protection Policy found below.

The purpose of this Policy is to set out how the School will carry out its commitment to and responsibilities for safeguarding. It forms a fundamental part of the approach of the School to providing excellent pastoral care to all students, including young people who may be over the age of 18 years.
