Halliford School was brimming with seasonal spirit over the last few weeks as students, staff, and families came together to celebrate two much-loved Autumn Term traditions: Harvest Festival and the Inter-House Pumpkin Carving Competition.
The week began with a strong sense of community and generosity as we launched our annual Harvest Festival Collection. Led by Charity Prefects Vee and Josh, the initiative encouraged donations of non-perishable food items and household items to support local food banks.
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the Halliford community, an incredible 28 boxes of food and household goods were collected, totalling 1,877 items. This inspiring response highlights the school’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community.
Creativity took centre stage with the Inter-House Pumpkin Carving Competition, where students showcased their artistic talents through a variety of imaginative and skilfully carved designs. In keeping with Halliford’s sustainability values, participants were encouraged to carve, cook, and grow for a greener tomorrow. A selection of pumpkin recipes was shared to help families make the most of their pumpkins and reduce waste.
The pumpkins were proudly displayed in the Courtyard, and Mr Davies had the tough task of selecting the winners. The results were:
Congratulations to all our talented students and to Desborough House and Russell House for their success. Special thanks to Ms Hetherington for organising the competition and to everyone who took part in making these events a memorable celebration of creativity, kindness, and community.
