This year’s Inter-House Photography Competition invited students to explore the theme of ‘Symmetry’, encouraging them to express their creativity through the camera lens. The challenge inspired students to observe the world around them more closely and present their own interpretations of this striking visual concept.
Symmetry is a compelling element in photography, capable of producing powerful and visually engaging images. Students responded enthusiastically, drawing inspiration from a wide variety of objects, surfaces and settings. From calm reflections on water to the bold lines of glass architecture, the entries demonstrated thoughtful composition and an impressive understanding of balance and form.
The submissions were judged by Mr Davies, who considered creativity, technical skill and originality. He was particularly impressed by the breadth of ideas and techniques on display, noting how students experimented confidently and moved beyond conventional approaches to offer personal and imaginative responses to the theme.
The competition provided a valuable opportunity for students to develop their photographic skills while exploring their artistic interests. It also promoted a strong sense of collaboration, pride and friendly competition across the Houses.
Congratulations to the prize winners:

At Halliford School, we are proud to offer opportunities that encourage students to grow, develop new skills and realise their potential. I would like to congratulate all participants for their enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment in representing their Houses.
