A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful school to support the Bursar in leading all non-academic aspects of school life. The School continues to flourish and grow and therefore the requirements on Premises, facilities, catering and transport have all increased. In 2021, the Woodward Building was opened with a large Learning Resource Centre and work on a new dining room extension and drama studio is due to open In November 2024.
Reporting to the Bursar, the role of the Assistant Bursar – Operations and Compliance is to ensure efficient and effective practices are in place to make the school a safe environment for students, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial control of the school’s operational services (non-academic), and that school policies and practices are fit for purpose and consistent with the regulatory framework for Independent Schools. This broad role encompasses Health and Safety, Premises, catering services, cleaning and housekeeping, school transportation, external lettings and compliance.
This would be an excellent opportunity for a candidate who has already gained a financial qualification and has worked previously in a finance position within a school setting and is now looking for operational experience to complement these skills in order to become a Bursar in a successful independent school.
The Assistant Bursar would report to the Bursar and work within the Bursary team which currently consists of Assistant Bursar – Financial Control and Compliance, Accounts Assistant and Fees & Transport Assistant.
