Academic & Pastoral Secretary

We are seeking a friendly, professional and experienced person, who can work as an effective member of our Headmaster’s Office and Academic Team in this newly created role. The person we are looking for will work directly with the Headmaster’s PA & HR Manager along with the School’s Senior Academic & Pastoral Team.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of secretarial support to senior level, have excellent IT skills with exceptional communication and organisational skills.  The ability to work under pressure with competing demands and deadlines is essential as is the ability to be flexible. An excellent working knowledge of Teams, Word and Excel will be required together with the ability to touch type to minute meetings in real time.

You may be expected to provide first aid cover from time to time and therefore will need to either have a first aid qualification or attend training to become qualified.

We expect the successful candidate to:

  • Have excellent grammar, spelling, IT skills, including advanced word processing, spreadsheets and email management.
  • Have excellent proof reading skills with a keen eye for attention to detail.
  • Have excellent organisation skills and be able to prioritise their workload.
  • Be able to relate well with children and adults.
  • Have a flexible approach and ensure confidentiality at all times.
  • Be self-motivated, able to work through set tasks carefully, timely and accurately, independently and as part of a team.

Closing Date Friday 2nd October with interviews to be held week commencing 5th October.

Working Hours

40 hour week – 8:30am to 5pm, all year round with a generous holiday allowance.
