Halliford School

 Scholarship & Bursaries

Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded, on entry at ages 11 and 16, for excellence in academic studies, music, art, drama and sport.

Academic scholarships are awarded on the results of the 11+ entry examination and GCSE results.

All other scholarships are awarded after an interview, the submission of a portfolio of work and an audition (or equivalent). e.g. Candidates for a sports scholarship will be required to undertake a variety of physical tests to demonstrate agility and co-ordination. Full details of Scholarship requirements can be obtained from the Registrar.

Scholarships may attract a percentage reduction in the basic school fees and are reviewed annually.  If it is felt that the pupil concerned is not meeting the standards expected then the Scholarship may be withdrawn.

Bursaries

The School welcomes applications from students whose parents cannot afford the fees, either in full or in part. Consequently, Bursaries are available on entry into the School at the ages of 11, 13  or 16.

In cases of unforeseen hardship, or temporary difficulty, Bursaries may also be awarded to ensure continuity of education.

Application for a Bursary is confidential and made through the Bursar. Once awarded  Bursaries are reviewed annually and may be withdrawn, or modified, if circumstances have changed significantly or if the pupil concerned is not meeting the standards expected.
